Foster Strickland, 76, of the 3500 block of Orange St., died July 17, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Strickland, a salesman, retired from Motorola Communications and Electronics after 15 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret B. Strickland; five sons, Robert Earl Strickland of Elizabeth City, N.C., W. Gerald Strickland and Gary Lee Strickland, both of Chesapeake, Foster Lee Strickland Jr. of Virginia Beach, and Donald Ray Strickland of Richmond, Va.; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Richard O'Neal in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
