In Hampton Roads, airport officials and travel agents say it's business as usual.
``I don't think it will affect us a lot,'' said Wayne Shank, deputy executive director of the Norfolk Airport Authority. ``Despite a tragedy like the one that happened last night, I think the vast majority of people feel comfortable traveling by air.''
At CI Travel's Norfolk airport location, customers showed little concern about their travel plans. No TWA customers called to change or cancel their reservations, manager Maria Clark said.
``Only one customer came up this morning asking about whether flights were landing at JFK airport and whether there were any delays,'' Clark said.
Clark's counterpart in CI's corporate office, Lee Garza, concurred. Garza said a few people called with concerns about delays and schedules, but no one canceled travel plans.
TWA will fully refund tickets or change reservations without penalties, Garza said.
TWA does not fly out of Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport, so officials there expect to see little effect.
