Effie E. Jones, 88, died July 19, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mrs. Jones, the widow of Joseph F. Jones, was a retired shipping clerk from Naval Supply Center. She was a native of Rocky Mount, N.C., and a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, J. Richard Jones and his wife, Dorothy A. of Frisco; three granddaughters, Sheryl Lynn Gee of Richmond, Stacey Louise Ange of Virginia Beach, Shannon Lee Jones of Orlando, Fla.; two grandsons, Joseph Richard Jones Jr. of Frisco, and David Steven Jones of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a great-granddaughter, Meredith Lynn Gee of Richmond; a great-grandson, Michael Thomas Gee of Richmond; Peggy Kimnach of Virginia Beach; and other numerous loving family members.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Dick Baker in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m.
