COAST GUARD COPTER TEAM RESCUES 4 FISHERMEN NO ONE WAS HURT WHEN THE 35-FOOT BOAT OVERTURNED

Four Nags Head fishermen were plucked from the Atlantic Friday afternoon by a Coast Guard helicopter team after their 35-foot fishing boat overturned about 37 miles southeast of Oregon Inlet.

Coast Guard spokesman Keith Spangler said the rescue was launched when the sport fishing boat Bad Habit sent out a ``Mayday'' distress call about 4 p.m.

None of those rescued was injured, Spangler said. They were taken to the Coast Guard station in Elizabeth City.

They were identified as Richard Joy, 46, the owner, and Frank Giglioti, 52, Tom Wicket, 56, and Albert Supil, 51.

Pilot of the helicopter was Lt. Rick Koester. Co-pilot was Lt. Melissa Rivera.

It was not immediately known what made the boat overturn. by CNB
