Charlie David Picot, of the 28000 block of Mt. Horeb Road, died July 19, 1996, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Picot, a native of Southampton County, was retired from Union Camp Corp. He was a member of Monroe Chapel Baptist Church, Franklin, where he served as a deacon and senior choir member. He sang with the New Golden Trumpeteers of Windsor for 13 years.
Survivors include his wife, Vernice B. Picot; two daughters, Vera Denise Peterson and Charlene Williams, both of Franklin; four sons, Chris Lewellyn Picot, Gerald Quinten Picot, Randall Terrance Picot, all of Franklin, Charlie David Picot Jr. of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; four sisters, Annie Mae Lewis of Baltimore, Md., Anna Elaine Bynum of Franklin, Clarice Council of Virginia Beach, Patricia Rogers of Portsmouth; two brothers, Melvin Rogers, James Picot of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Newsoms, Va., by the Rev. M.L. Rooks. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery, Franklin. Remains will be placed in the church at noon. Wm. M. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home is in charge.
