RODGER D. HUMPHRIES

Rodger D. Humphries, 30, of the 3000 block of Pewter Road, died July 18, 1996, in Norfolk.

Mr. Humphries, who was born at Altus Air Force Base in Altus, Okla., was a mechanic with the Sea Bees, U.S. Navy. He had served for nine years and six months. He was a Gulf War veteran. Mr. Humphries was a member of the Lynnhaven Ward of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Virginia Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie S. Humphries of Michigan; a daughter, Kaitlin C. Humphries of Virginia Beach; two sons, William F.J. Humphries and Codi J.D. Humphries, both of Virginia Beach; his parents, Rose L. Humphries and Ronnie D. Humphries; three brothers, Robert D. Humphries, Richard D. Humphries and Ryan D. Humphries, all of Dallas, Texas; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Humphries of Lometa, Texas; father and mother-in-law, James A. and Donna M. Anderson; a cousin, Jeremy K. Humphries of Dallas, Texas; and godchildren, Chuck and Amber.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday by Bishop Robbie Robertson in the Lynnhaven Ward of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be in New Clifton Cemetery, Clifton, Texas, at a later date. Friends may join the family Tuesday at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
