Naomi H. Dixon, 74, of the 2700 block of High St., died July 18, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
Mrs. Dixon, the widow of Vernon Dixon Sr., was a native of Norfolk County. She was a member of Celestial Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include a daughter, Verna Dixon; four sons, Leonardus Dixon, Vernon Dixon Jr., Romierell Elliott, Tony Elliott; three sisters, Barbara Wright, Elma Moore, Dorothy Jones; two brothers, William Gayles, Robert Gayles; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Cato Battle; two sisters-in-law, Maggie Gayles and Bonnie Gayles; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Wright and Anthony Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Evon E. Battle; and a sister, Vivian Dixon.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Leon J. Boone in Celestial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will assemble at the residence. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
