Ernest Paul McGlothlin, 66, died Friday July 19, 1996, at his residence.
Mr. McGlothlin, a native of Liberty Grove, Md., was a retired test engineer for Aberdeen Proving Grounds for 35 years. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of First Flight Lions Club. He was the son of the late Thomas H. McGlothlin and the late Laura Bell Van Dyke McGlothlin and the husband of Marlene Wingren McGlothlin of the home.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jeannette Shapiro of Wheeling, Ill., and Patti Jean Warren of Manassas, Va.; three sons, James McGlothlin of Florida, Craig Pope of Louisville, Ky., and Capt. Andrew Pope of London, England; four sisters, Cloe Collins of El Paso, Texas, Eve MacCauley of Louisa, Va., Vicey Anders of Galax, Va., and Dorothy McCardell of Liberty Grove, Md.; two brothers, Thomas McGlothlin of Austin, Texas, and Otis McGlothlin of Hollywood, Fla.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, by the Rev. Spottswood Graves. Burial will follow in the Southern Shores cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today at 4 p.m. In addition to flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Flight Lions Club, 2706 N.
