ANTHONY J. LASCARA

Anthony Joseph Lascara, 74, of Wells Parkway, died July 18, 1996.

Mr. Lascara was a native of Norfolk, and the son of the late Joseph and Mary Grace Lascara. He graduated from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, and the School of Social Work, Catholic University, Washington, D.C.

He was a social worker for Catholic Family and Children Services in Norfolk, before serving as director of Travelers Aid in Wilmington, Del. Mr. Lascara later returned to Norfolk to join the family's shoe business where he remained until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Aline Lascara. He is survived by five children, Mary Alice Booth and her husband, Kenneth of Portsmouth, Margaret Catherine Bisese and her husband, Michael of Virginia Beach, Michael Anthony Lascara and his wife, Reba of Charlotte, N.C., Mark Joseph Lascara of Portsmouth, and Matthew Christopher Lascara and his wife, Linda of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Alison Marie Booth, Benjamin Allen Booth, Catherine Hannah Booth, Madeline Grace Booth, Johnathan David Booth and Cameron Joseph Booth of Portsmouth, Paul Anthony Lascara, James Patrick Lascara and Mark Tyler Lascara of Charlotte, and Joseph Clinton Lascara of Goodlettsville, Tenn. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Vice Admr. Vincent A. Lascara.

A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church, the Rev. John T. Dorgan will preside, assisted by the Rev. Joseph P. Lehman. A Christian Wake service will be held in Christ the King Catholic Church today at 7 p.m. with a visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christ the King Social Ministry Fund or the Sacred Heart Church Soup Kitchen Ministry. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
