Edward Lewis Owens, 77, of the 300 block of Taylor Store Road, died Friday, July 19, 1996 in Georgetown, S.C.
A native of Colerain, N.C., Mr. Owens was a son of the late James Clifford and Viva Forehand Owens, and the husband of Mrs. Vivian Irene Taylor Owens. He was a retired store owner and metalsmith and a member of the Capeharts Baptist Church.
Surviving other than his wife is his daughter, Beth Owens McAlister of Georgetown, S.C.; and his son, Eddie Owens Jr. of Raeford, N.C. He is also survived by two sisters, Marian Warrington of Kinston, N.C. and Lillie Owens of Elizabeth City, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in the Capeharts Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Williams with burial following in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Capeharts Baptist Church, Ledrew Perry Road, Merry Hill, N.C., 27957. The Evans Funeral Home of Edenton is serving the Owens family.
