Alonzo McNeil of the 2500 block of King Court died July 18, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. McNeil was born in Wilson, N.C., and retired as a shipping clerk from Colonial Stores, Norfolk, in 1980 after 18 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church Westmunden in Chesapeake, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel McNeil; three daughters, Paulette Johnson of Alexandria, Va., Felicia Jones of Fayetteville, N.C., and Jacqueline Hamlin of Chesterfield, Va.; a son, Army SP4 William L. McNeil of Fort Bragg, N.C.; three sisters, Beulah Green of Hartford, Conn., and Louvenia Adams and Celesta Allen of Norfolk; a brother, Amos McNeil of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church Westmunden by the Rev. Dr. John L. Ashby. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
