DOUGLAS R. MILLER

Douglas Randolph Miller, 88, of Route 1, died July 21, 1996, in Guardian Care Nursing Home, Ahoskie.

He was born in Bertie County and was a retired farmer. He was a member and deacon of Oak Grove Baptist Church, former Sunday school superintendent for more than 50 years, adult Sunday school teacher and music director. He was a member of Gideons International, charter member and president of Byrd Hunt Club for more than 25 years and member of the Perry Miller Quartet.

Survivors include two sisters, Geneva M. Mustian of Ahoskie and Geraldine M. Holloman of Harrellsville; three brothers, T.C. Miller of Aulander, E. Neal Miller of Ahoskie and Stanley Miller of Colerain; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Bob Skeens and the Rev. Keith White. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the home of Geneva Mustian, 220 Baker St., Ahoskie.
