STAND UP FOR MACARTHUR CENTER

The time has come to stand up and support our growth opportunity. All of my life, in Norfolk, I have been interested in what is in the best interest of our area as well as our city, whether it be the Military Circle development or, similarly, Pembroke, Lynnhaven and Greenbrier malls.

Now that your paper has published mostly negative comments about design features of MacArthur Center, I wish to say, objectively, that as the area has grown and prospered with the above malls and their surrounding developments, so will the area grow and prosper with the construction and operation of MacArthur Center.

I have studied the revised and current design drawings which I believe are excellent and satisfactory to all concerned (as have the review bodies on the state and local levels).

Now is the time to put criticisms and negative expressions behind us and encourage our leaders, the developer and the anchor tenants by standing up for what is certain to be truly progress and growth for Norfolk and all Hampton Roads.
