HATTIE THOMPSON

Hattie Thompson, of the 900 block of Newtown Road, died July 19, 1996.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Norfolk County and was a nurse. She was a member of Mount Sinai Holiness Church, Portsmouth.

Survivors include her husband, Roscoe C. Thompson of Staunton, Va.; two sons, Vernon Evans of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Henry Evans of Norfolk; three daughters, Brenda Massey, Vera Evans and Trudy Evans, all of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Vertee Riddick of Portsmouth and Louise McNeal of Chesapeake; godsister, Jeannie Walston of Virginia Beach; a foster sister, Armecia Davis of Chesapeake; two brothers, Richard Evans of Virginia Beach and Wallace Evans of Norfolk; two foster brothers, Roy Reed and Milton Reed of Chesapeake; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. by Elder Ronald Thompson in Mount Sinai United Holy Church, 3200 Glasglow St., Portsmouth. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. There will be a wake today from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will be at 1420 Longdale Drive, Apt. 102.
