William J. ``Grouch'' Lawhorne, 63, of the 600 block of Norcova Drive, died July 18, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Lawhorne was born in Ty Ty, Ga., and was retired from the U.S. Navy after 26 years. He was also retired from N.A.D.A.P.
Survivors include his wife, Gina R. Lawhorne; a daughter, Peggy Aslam of Chino, Calif.; four stepsons, Jeremy Hounshelle of Chesapeake, Richard S. Foote of Chesapeake, Bryan T. Foote of Norfolk, and David Todd Fennessey of Lawrenceville, Va.; a half sister, Carolyn Vaughan of Ty Ty, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and several aunts and uncles in Ty Ty.
The graveside service will be Monday, July 29, 1996, at 10 a.m. in Arlington National Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
