A 6-year-old girl was killed and three men were shot at a home in the Park View section Monday night, police said.
The shooting occurred about 7:20 p.m., but details of what happened at the home in the first block of Webster Avenue were very few late Monday. Police were still trying to piece together the scenario.
Amber Whitaker, a police spokeswoman, said none of the men - who are in their late teens and early 20s - appeared to have suffered life-threatening injuries. Two were being treated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital; the third, at Portsmouth General. The names of all the victims were being withheld until relatives could be notified.
Whitaker said it was unclear whether the girl had been caught in crossfire or was hit by a stray bullet.
