Elizabeth Marie Waddington, 78, of the 500 block of Weatherwood Court, died July 21, 1996, in Eisenhower Medical Center.
Mrs. Waddington, the widow of Albert I. Waddington, was the daughter of the late Paul and Marie S. Dougherty. She was a native of Auburn, N.Y., and served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy during and after World War II. She retired as a teacher from the City of Norfolk Public Schools in 1982.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Waddington of Aiken and Michael Waddington of Chesapeake; two daughters, Michele Beranek of Aiken and Cheryl Krumke of Piney Point, Md.; two brothers, Paul Dougherty of Deerfield, Ill., and Edwin Dougherty of Salisbury, Md.; three sisters, Linette Slightam of Madison, Wis., Sister Paul Marie Dougherty of Rochester, N.Y., Margaret Ann Dougherty of Auburn, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
