John Edward ``Dusty'' Rhoads Sr., 75, died July 22, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Rhoads, a native of Reading, Pa., retired from General Electric after 26 years as a marketing specialist. He served in World War II as a bomber pilot in the Army Air Corps and again in Korea reaching the rank of captain.
Survivors include his wife, Frances P. Rhoads; two daughters, Lisa Rhoads of Clinton, N.J., and Laurie Dockery and her husband, Ed, of Virginia Beach; a son, John E. Rhoads Jr. of Jackson, Mich.; a brother, Carl Rhoads of Lansdale, Pa.; and a grandson, E.J. Dockery Jr. of Virginia Beach.
A memorial service will be held at noon Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hunterdon Developmental Center, Clinton, N.J. The family will receive friends after the service on Thursday at Mr. Rhoads' home, 2640 Level Loop Road, Virginia Beach.
