NOVELLA H. ARTIS

Novella Harris Artis, of the 25000 block of Pope Station Road, died July 21, 1996, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

She was a native of Southampton County and retired from ManryRawls Inc. after 50 years. She was a member of David Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, Courtland, Va.

Survivors include her husband, Willie O. Artis; two foster daughters, Rosa Long of Washington, D.C., Ruth Wright of Seat Pleasant, Md.; a sister, Lucille Crutchfield of Richmond; two brothers, Irving Harris and Wilbert Harris, both of Courtland.

A funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday in David Temple A.M.E. Zion Church by the Rev. Samuel Buck. Burial will be in Shiloh Church Cemetery, Boykins. Remains will be taken to the church at 11:30 a.m. Wm. M. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home Inc. is in charge.
