Organizers of the Harvey Lee Gard Special Fund are hosting a picnic and raffle on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Admission to the gardens is free for event goers. The $15 tickets to the picnic, which can be purchased in advance or at the event, will include food and family entertainment. Raffle prizes will include free meals at area restaurants and passes to Busch Gardens. Proceeds will help pay for a lifesaving bone marrow transplant for Gard, a 26-year-old Norfolk resident who suffers from a serious form of cancer.
