STAR GAZING TAKE A GOOD LOOK, THESE TWO HOLLYWOOD FACES ARE LIKELY TO BE AROUND FOR A LONG TIME.

NORMA DESMOND, the fading silent-movie star of ``Sunset Boulevard,'' perhaps put it best: ``We had faces back then. Now, there are no faces.''

Just when her prophecy seemed true, two luminous new faces have surfaced in widely varying films. In every sense, Liv Tyler and Matthew McConaughey have the kind of charisma that marks them as ``movie stars,'' which sometimes has nothing to do with acting.

Both have the kind of star-making roles - Tyler in ``Stealing Beauty'' and McConaughey in ``A Time to Kill'' - that rarely come along. Both are set for important future projects. Both are likely to be around for a long time. MEMO: [See accompanying stories on same page] by CNB
