Ned Hardison Spruill, 87, of the 1600 block of New York Ave., died July 24, 1996, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Born in Columbia, N.C., he was a self-employed carpenter and retired in 1981 after 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Berry Spruill of Virginia Beach; daughter, Allie Hughes of Virginia Beach; three sons, Jack Spruill, David Spruill, both of Virginia Beach, Wade Spruill of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Lucy Simmons of Columbia, N.C., and Annie Davenport of Macky, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Jerry Hannah in Princess Anne Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Friends may join the family at Maestas Funeral Home, Baltic Ave. Chapel, on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. and at any other time the family will be 236 Gatewood Park, Virginia Beach.
