CLAYTON C. MARLOW

Clayton Charles Marlow, 73, of Church Street, died Wednesday night, July 24, 1996, at his home.

Mr. Marlow was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, a retired teacher from the social studies department of Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Md., a mason and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He is the author of ``Matt W. Ransom, Confederate General from North Carolina,'' scheduled to be published in November.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Stokes Marlow; a brother, Roy Marlow of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Helen Marlow and Ena Miller of Seattle.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hunter Preston. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at William and Mary Hart Church Cemetery in Leggett, N.C. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Carl Price, Route 1, Box 297, Jackson, N.C. 27845. Arrangements are being handled by Jackson Funeral Home, Jackson, and Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro.
