BLUEFIN TUNA

The National Marine Fisheries Service closed the general category fishery for Atlantic bluefin tuna this week.

Fishing for, retaining, possessing or landing large medium or giant bluefin tuna will not be allowed again until Aug. 1. The August quota for these fish is 186 metric tons.
