CONSIDER KIDS

Regarding ``What hypocrisy?'' (letter, July 16): Barry H. Hellman Jr. seems to think McDonald's, which is currently including toys based on the movie ``Babe'' in its meals for kids, is not the least bit hypocritical.

The movie ``Babe'' teaches that pigs are not just bacon and ham hocks. Pigs can be frightened and lonely, joyous and affectionate - much like humans.

Kids deserve better than to have their love and compassion for animals exploited by companies like McDonald's, which are responsible for the suffering and deaths of so many real-life Babes.
