Minnie B. Hood, of the 1200 block of West 27th St., died July 25, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Hood, a native of Greenville County, S.C., was the daughter of the late Lula Mays Burks. She was a member of Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, Chesapeake. She retired from National Linen Service after 35 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Hood Sr. of the home; three daughters, Lomena Johnson, Robbie Griffin, Doreen Ricks; three sons, Samuel Hood Jr., William Hood, Vernon M. Fareed (Hood); 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday by the Rev. James E. Edwards in Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, 3001-A Indian River Road, Chesapeake. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. The family will receive friends at Riddick Funeral Service Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and at other times at 1277 W. 27th St.
