At 1,149 FEET, the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas takes its place high on the list of the world's tallest structures. The CN Tower in Toronto, at 1,815 feet, is the tallest free-standing structure in the world.
The new Petronas twin-tower skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, was recently topped off at 1,483 feet, usurping the title of the world's tallest skyscraper from Chicago's Sears Tower (1,450 feet).
Beyond those three structures, only New York's World Trade Centers (1,368 and 1,362 feet) and the Empire State Building (1,250 feet) are taller than the Stratosphere.
