Joyce Yvonne Greene, 56, of the 5800 block of East Hastings Arch, died July 24, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Greene was the widower of Alphonso Greene. She was a nurse's assistant at Sentara Village Nursing Home for 10 years. A native of Colerain, N.C., she was a member of First Baptist Church, Lambert's Point, Norfolk. She was a graduate of Robert L. Vann High School, Ahoskie, N.C., where she was a member of the glee club and band.
Survivors include her mother, Gracie V. Jenkins; three sisters, Vernice Smith, Pauline Johnson and Brenda Jenkins, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Walter Jenkins Jr. of Baltimore, Md. and Malachi Jenkins of Norfolk; and other nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. She was predeceased by her father, Walter Jenkins Sr.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 1996, in First Baptist Church, Lambert's Point. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Hale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
