Annie Laurie DeGraw Basnight, 74, of the 2900 block of Bridge Road, died July 29, 1996, in Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth.
She was a native of South Carolina and the widow of William C. Basnight and George C. DeGraw Jr. She was a beautician and a member of Berea Christian Church.
Survivors include her son, George C. DeGraw III of Suffolk; two brothers, Horace Dozier and Paul Dozier, both of Florida; four grandchildren, Herbert L. Lynch Jr. of Carrollton, Va., Richard A. Lynch, Suzanne DeGraw Wright, George Clifford DeGraw IV, all of Suffolk; and a great-grandchild, Richard A. Lynch Jr.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. J. Robert Bennett in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Bennetts Creek Rescue Squad.
