Jean Owens Wilcox, 73, of the 100 block of Riverpoint Crescent, died July 28, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Wilcox, a native of Portsmouth, was the widow of Sidney C. Wilcox. She was retired from Morrison's Cafeteria and attended the Alliance Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeannie S. Wilcox of Toano, Va.; two sisters, Anna Radford of Portsmouth, Abbitt Vaughn of Nixa, Mo.; two grandchildren, James L. Elliott Jr. and Sidney Adam Elliott; a great-grandchild, James L. ``Dude'' Elliott III; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Earl W. Freeland in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
