VIRGINIA BEACH - Everett L. ``Rex'' Harrell, 73, of the 5600 block of Elgin Road, died July 29, 1996, in Norfolk.

Mr. Harrell, a work leader, was retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility. He had also retired from the U.S. Navy as an aviation machinist's mate first class after 28 years. He was a native of Macon, Ga., and a member of Kempsville Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. Mr. Harrell was a member of Kempsville Masonic Lodge (NU)196, A.F. & A.M, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Temple of the Shrine and Order of the Eastern Star, Kempsville Chapter (NU)173. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea.

Survivors include his wife, Laura B. Harrell; a daughter, Diane Richardson of Albuquerque, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Laura Lee Bradley of Virginia Beach; a son, R. Lamar Harrell of Clarksville, Va.; two stepsons, John W. Bramble of Tampa, Fla., and Lester Bramble of Chesapeake; two sisters, Frances Harvey and Virginia R. Bass, both of Macon; 17 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Michael Turner. Burial with military honors will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners' Crippled Children's Hospital, 645 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, 23320. Masonic rites will be accorded at the funeral home Wednesday.
