JANE MCL. BRIGHTWELL

Jane McLean Brightwell, 91, of the 500 block of Longdale Crescent, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 1996, in Virginia Beach.

Mrs. Brightwell, a native of Aberdeen, Scotland, was the widow of William J. Brightwell Sr. She was a member of Church of the Latter-Day Saints.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane Anne Brightwell of Norfolk; a son and his wife, William J. Brightwell Jr. and his wife, Irene, of Chesapeake; two sisters, Minnie Mullins of Newfoundland, Mary Simpson of Scotland; five grandchildren, Steven J. Brightwell Sr. of Asheville, N.C., Deborah J. Sherard of Chesapeake, Linda A. Collins of Chesapeake, Teresa I. Hart of Williamsburg, Va., Daniel K. Galvin of Norfolk; eight great-grandchildren, Shannon Tackett, Steven Brightwell Jr., Shane Brightwell, Spencer Brightwell, Travis Hart, Christopher Sherard, Trevor Collins, and Tyler Collins.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Paul D. Moore in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Operation Smile.
