Mildred Crawford Harland, of the 4800 block of Frostburg Lane, 86, went peacefully to heaven July 28, 1996.
A native of Blue Ridge, Ga., she resided in Virginia for more than 51 years. She retired from Seaboard Citizens National Bank after 14 years of bookkeeping. She was an active member of Bayside Baptist Church and could be found with their Pep Club, the Women's Missionary Union, and the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard J. Harland; a son, Malcolm L. Harland of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Randa-Lynn H. MacGregor; and three great-grandchildren, Stuart, Jamie and Darcie of Norfolk; a sister, Ruth C.B. Anderson of Waycross, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. in Bayside Baptist Church. Mrs. Harland requested that her body be donated to science to help advance Alzheimer's disease research. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Bayside Baptist Church's Education Fund.
