JUANITA B. VICK

Juanita Barnes Vick, 84, died Tuesday, July 30, 1996, at East Pavilion in Franklin.

She was the widow of Clyde Vick. She lived in Newsoms most of her life, spending the last five years at the Village at Woods Edge and East Pavilion in Franklin. She was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the church. She was a retired employee of St. Regis Paper Company, Franklin. She served as a pink lady at Southampton Memorial Hospital for many years and she was a member of the Golden Age Club. She was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Verbena Morgan Barnes.

Mrs. Vick is survived by a daughter, Betty Jean Everett and husband, Marvin, of Capron; two sons, Bobby M. Vick and wife, Margaret, of Franklin, James C. Vick and wife, Linda, of Newsoms; a sister, Gracie Grizzard of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; five grandchildren, M.L. Everett Jr., Vicky V. Baker, Stephan M. Vick, Renita E. Snyder, Carla L. Vick; two great-grandsons, Lewis Everett III, Thane Everett; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey C. Everett.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. in Barnes United Methodist Church on Thursday, Aug. 1, 1996, by the Rev. Derik Koolman and the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Barnes United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 235, Newsoms, Va. 23874.
