VIRGINIA BEACH - Sebastian ``Ski'' Gerszewski, 80, of the 2900 block of Lynnhaven Drive, died July 28, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Mr. Gerszewski, a native of Warsaw, N.D., was retired from the U.S. Navy as a senior chief petty officer. He was also retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Rework Facility as an aviation machinist. He was a life member and former trustee of V.F.W. Post (NU)4809. He held the fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus and was a member of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association; USS California Association; Military Order of the Cootie; Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20; Lynnhaven Sportsmans Club; and Reef Society.

Survivors include his wife, Marie D. Gerszewski; two daughters, Mary Richard and her husband, Louis, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Joan Hammer and her husband, Don, of Bloomington, Ill.; four sons, Loren Hoffman Gerszewski and his wife, Theresa, of Grosse Ile, Mich., Leon Hoffman Gerszewski and his wife, Elisabet, of Charlottesville, Va., John Hoffman Gerszewski and his wife, Valerie, of Danville, Va., Mark Gerszewski and his wife, Pam, of Coinjock, N.C.; five sisters, Rose Brandt, Adeline Hardy, Magdeline Adamski, Suzanne Sood and Louise LaPointe; and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel by James F. Mennis, U.S. Navy Chaplain. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 1996, in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel.
