John A. Philpott, 66, of the 600 block of Sheridan Woods Drive, died July 29, 1996, in his home.
He was a native of Roxboro, N.C., born May 31, 1930. He moved to S. Brevard County, Fla., from Portsmouth, Va., in 1986. He was a retired contract administrator with Norfolk Naval Shipyard, a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Portsmouth, Orient of Virginia Masonic Lodge 276 of Portsmouth, Wally Byam Caravan Club International, and a life member of the DAV. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Melbourne.
He is survived by his wife, May W. Philpott; daughter, Sharon Williamson of Chesapeake; two granddaughters; and his mother, Gladys Philpott of West Melbourne.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Chapel, Melbourne. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Donations may be made to the Holmes HOSPICE, 1900 Dairy Road, Melbourne, Fla. 32904 or the American Cancer Society, 6983 Wickham Road, Melbourne, Fla. 32940.
