Kathleen S. McKinney, 72, died at her home, 721 North Haven Circle, Monday, July 29, 1996.
Born in Hyde County, N.C., Oct. 21, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charlie R. and Pearl Harris Sadler. She was the widow of William Forrest McKinney who died Sept. 29, 1968. She was a retired salesperson with Rices-Nachman Company and a member of Fairview Church of Christ.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the family plot in Soule Cemetery, Swan Quarter, N.C. Gerald Stemm will officiate.
Surviving are a son, Louis E. McKinney of Chesapeake; two daughters, Velma M. Franklin of Virginia Beach, Doris M. Sharp of Chesapeake; three brothers, Robert Sadler of Marlboro, N.Y., Gaston Sadler of Rte. 1, Scranton and Travis Sadler of Washington, N.C.; two sisters, Hazel Worthman of Washington, N.C., and Lucille Jones of Engelhard; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Memorials should be directed to Fairview Church of Christ, 1112 Tatemtown Road, Chesapeake, Va. 23325. Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter.
