Walter J. Boone, 84, died July 29, 1996, in his residence.
A native of Duplin County, N.C., he retired as owner and operator of Boone's Quality Television Service for over 31 years. Mr. Boone was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and past president of the Wesleymen Bible Class. He was a member of Norfolk Yacht and Country Club; a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Surburban Norfolk; a member of the Norfolk, Virginia Beach Executive Club, Corinthian Masonic Lodge (NU)266 and the Khedive Shrine Temple of Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Boone; a sister, Thelma Murphy of Kenansville, N.C.; a grandson, Vaughan Boone of Ohio; a granddaughter, Sallie Boone of Boone, N.C.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 1996, in Smith and Willliams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Roy P. White and Judge Hal J. Bonney Jr. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his memory to Epworth United Methodist Church.
