Maria Glassmire Rich, 73, died Tuesday, July 30, in her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Florence L. Glassmire and the late Benjamin F. Glassmire of Philadelphia, Pa.; and the wife of the late Simon B. ``Cy'' Rich of Belhaven, N.C.
Mrs. Rich spent the last 30 years of her life in Raleigh helping others. She was a loving person who was there for all she knew. She will be sadly missed.
Survivors include three sons, Simon B. Rich Jr. of Redding, Conn., Robert J. Rich of Washington, N.C., and William D. Rich of Elizabeth City; three sisters, Loretta G. Stetson of Hollywood, Fla., Theresa G. Staub of Philadelphia, and Florence Brown of Cherryhill, N.J.; nine grandchildren, Gibson Rich, Mary R. Hill, Simon B. Rich III, Sarah Rich, Benjamin Rich, Robert Bryan Rich, Marshall J. Rich, William D. ``Billy'' Rich Jr., Alexander Brown Rich; and two great-grandchildren, Eliza Hill and Asher B. Hill.
The funeral and graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the family farm in Belhaven. Visitation will be in Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Raleigh, from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven, also is in charge of arrangements.
