Samuel Martin Moore, 36, of Pulaski and Atlanta, Ga., died early Tuesday morning, July 30, 1996, at his home in Pulaski.
He was born in Richmond on Sept. 26, 1959, and he was a descendant of Robert and Elizabeth Martin. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Bassett Kee and Allena S. Hall of Pulaski and S.G. Moore of Richmond. He was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church, Atlanta. A 1977 graduate of Pulaski County High School and a 1981 graduate of Emory & Henry College, he was very active in the track program of both schools.
Surviving him are parents, William A. and Eleanor H. Moore of Pulaski; a grandmother, Allie Moore of Richmond; brothers and sisters, Jim and Janet Collins of Moneta, Tom and Debbie McPherson of Williamsburg, David and Marilyn Allen of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Billy Moore of Pulaski; six nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski, with the Rev. Lisa Derrick and the Rev. Norman Wilhoit officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at their home on Alum Spring Road, Pulaski. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. from the St. Mark United Methodist Church, Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Atlanta Inter-Faith Sam Moore Memorial, 1053 Juniper St., Atlanta, 30309. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., in Pulaski.
