Josephine A. Brown, 84, died July 31, 1996.
A native of Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ella Grubbs Almond and the widow of Raymond O. Brown. Mrs. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Raymond Brown of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Michael D. Brown and Robert J. Brown; a great-granddaughter, Mandi D. Brown; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Snyder and Mrs. Bertha Law, both of Lynchburg; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson and the Rev. Allen Dooley. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home today. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
