MARGARET R. SMITH

Margaret Virginia Richardson Smith, 80, formerly of the 1900 block of Rodman Ave., widow of John M. Smith, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 1996, at her daughter's home in Suffolk.

Mrs. Smith, a native of Portsmouth, was a member of West End United Methodist Church, the Dorcas Bible Class, and the Golden Years Study Group.

Survivors include her loving daughter and son-in-law, Carol S. Vernon and Rod Vernon of Suffolk; two sisters-in-law, Helen Richardson-Mitchell of Suffolk, Mildred Smith of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 1996, in West End United Methodist Church by Rev. Dick Jones, with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at her daughter's home, 5621 Canterbury Lane, Suffolk. Memorial donations may be made to West End United Methodist Church, 1800 Rodman Ave., Portsmouth, Va. 23707. Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, Suffolk is handling arrangements.
