James Grady ``J.G.'' Hall Jr., 68, of the 1300 block of Early Station Road, died Monday, Aug. 5, 1996, at his home.
He was a native of Bertie County, a member of the Kelford Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Hall had retired from R & W Chevrolet as a salesman and was employed by the Bertie County ABC Board until his death. He was a Mason and the founder of Tri-County Truck Pullers Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Joy H. Winslow of Ahoskie, N.C., and Julie H. Johnson of Roxobel, N.C.; two sons-in-law, Murray Winslow of Ahoskie and Danny Joe Johnson of Kelford, N.C.; a sister, Vira H. Brown of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Jenna Smith and Kaleb Johnson, both of Roxobel; two nieces and a nephew.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in the Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery by the Rev. Robert May. The family will receive friends at his home. Memorial gifts may be made to Roanoke-Chowan Hospice, Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910. Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, is in charge of arrangements.
