Claude Wilson Hughes, 80, of the 200 block of Leonard Road, died Aug. 5, 1996, in his residence.
A native of Montgomery Co., Va., he was a retired sheetmetal worker for the Naval Air Rework Facility. Mr. Hughes was a member of Alexander Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Duncan, and her husband, Tony, of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan Duncan; and two brothers, Alvin Shirley Hughes of Radford, Va., and Lawrence Harvey Hughes of Roanoke, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. John Burr. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
