Martha H. Johnson, 77, of the 3600 block of Kingman Ave., died Aug. 5, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Johnson, a native of Little Washington, N.C., was a former clerk typist in Shop 51 of Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She was a member of Parkview Christian Church and Christian Women's Fellowship. She graduated from the Juliard School of Music in New York and formerly was employed by the Commodore, Colony and Gates Theaters.
Survivors include her husband, Harold S. Johnson; and a sister, Kathryn Bartlett of Masadonia, Ohio.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by Dr. Robert Danner and Rev. Marilyn Danner in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the residence. Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge.
