Roy Walter Haag, a native of Richmond, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1996, in Williamsburg Community Hospital. He was 76 and had been a resident of Williamsburg for four years.
He was the son of the late Georg Nikolas and Ida Erikson Haag of Sweden and Richmond. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Nils Georg Haag, Dr. Harvey B. Haag and Wilhelm Haag. He was a Lutheran. He attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy and served as a first lieutenant tank unit commander in the Rhineland in World War II. He was an accomplished jazz and classical guitarist well-known in Richmond for many years. He retired from William H. Rorer, Inc. as a pharmaceutical representative in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Williams Haag of Williamsburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nelle H. and Michael P. Pitman of Williamsburg, Beverly H. and Steven R. Paquette of Gum Spring, Va.; a sister, Esther H. Carson of Sandston, Va.; three grandchildren, Leighton D. Paquette, Erika D. Paquette, Helen B. Pittman, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.
