Lt. Cmdr. Theodore S. Zagorski, 77, died Aug. 8, 1996, after a long illness.
Mr. Zagorski was born in Meredin, Conn., a son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Dobzanski Zagorski. Lt. Cmdr. Zagorski retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. He served during World War II aboard the USS Beagle, USS Columbus and USS Canberra. His duty stations were in Washington, D.C.; Belgrade; Yugoslavia; Pensacola, Fla.; and Norfolk. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for 10 years at Norfolk Circuit Courts. He was a member of the national and local chapters of the Retired Officers Assoc. and the Knights of Columbus (NU)367. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Men's Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Michael Zagorski; two daughters, Janice Timpano and her husband, Richard, of Herndon, Va., Sandra Pristas and her husband, Michael, of Richmond; two sons, Donald Zagorski and his wife, Taffy, of Chesapeake, and Michael Zagorski of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Emily Pratzon of Wallingford, Conn.; two brothers, Frank Zagorski of Monument, Colo., and Henry Zagorski of Meriden, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Tony and Tina Timpano, Leigh and Greg Zagorski, Brooke Butler, Allison and Jenna Pristas.
A mass will be held Tuesday in St. Pius X Catholic Church at 11 a.m. by Father William Dale. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. A prayer service will be in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, Monday at 7 p.m., where a visitation will follow. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
