DON'T CUT SPECIAL ED

Most people don't know what special education is.

``Special'' education is just that: special. It involves physical, occupational and speech therapy, along with reading writing and arithmetic. It can be to help the severely disabled or someone who just has a hard time reading and spelling. Teachers in regular-education classes don't have the time to work with those who need the special help.

Let's talk about a waste of education money. If we took the law-enforcement salaries and the security salaries it takes to control the regular-education students in the city of Norfolk and used this money for special education, then we'd have more money to educate those who want and need to be educated.
