SUFFOLK CRIME REPORT

DISTRICT A

Lost/stolen, 4700 block Camellia Drive, July 25, someone removed license plates from a vehicle.

DISTRICT B

Grand larceny, 100 block Dunbar Drive, July 26, between July 1995 and February 1996, someone removed a stainless steel Rolex watch valued at $1,800 and a half-inch-wide gold nugget bracelet valued at about $400. The owner, at sea for six months, discovered the items missing upon his return.

DISTRICT C

Breaking and entering, 800 block West Constance Road, July 25, an officer, responding to an alarm, discovered that the side window of a business had been broken out. A refrigerator door had been broken and the following items removed: six pint bottles of Wild Irish Rose wine, six pint bottles of Homestead wine, five .750 bottles of Homestead wine and eight bottles of Mogen David 20/20, and 82 packs of Newport cigarettes. The value totaled about $210. Damage was estimated at $250, and damage to the refrigerator door $250.

Petty larceny, 100 block North Main St., July 25, someone removed a Motorola cellular phone from a desk.

Grand larceny, 2300 block Godwin Blvd., July 26, someone entered a residence by breaking the glass of the door. Bed sheets and a black GE microwave oven were removed.

Breaking and entering, 100 block Lee St., July 26, someone attempted to enter a house by tearing a screen window. The occupant screamed when she saw someone reach in to unlatch the window, and the burglar fled.

Breaking and entering, 800 block Garfield Ave., July 26, someone entered a residence and removed a 19-inch Sharp color television.

Breaking and entering, 800 block Second Ave., July 27, someone entered a residence and removed an RCA VCR.

Breaking and entering, 300 block Brook Ave., July 27, someone entered a residence and removed a black and red 1996 Terminator bicycle.

Armed robbery, Saratoga and Wellons streets, July 27, a man reports that an acquaintance and three other men attempted to rob him. The victim was struck in the back of the head, creating a wound that required eight staples to close.

Motor vehicle theft, 100 block St. James Ave., July 28, someone entered a vehicle and attempted to steal it by prying open the steering column. The car sustained about $400 in damage to the column and stereo.

Unauthorized use, 600 block Brook Ave., July 30, someone borrowed a blue, 4-door, '87 Toyota Corolla to go to the store but has not been seen or heard from since.

Grand larceny, 100 block Maury Place, July 30, someone removed a red Shindaiwa trimmer from the rear seat of a parked car.

Breaking and entering, 900 block North Main St., July 31, a police officer noticed a 12-inch hole in the glass of a business. When the alarm sounded again, an officer observed that damage to the side panel window had increased to permit entry to the building. An interior check revealed no one was inside; however, several items were processed as evidence.

Unauthorized use, 300 block Brook Ave., July 31, someone made arrangements for a friend to paint his vehicle. The car should have been returned on July 28, but the man had driven to Baltimore.

DISTRICT D

Breaking and entering, 300 block Hunter St., July 28, someone observed three men leaving the westside door of an apartment. Entry to the apartment was gained through the rear window by breaking off the window guard, raising the window and breaking the window lock. The intruders attempted to tear down a wall separating the apartment from the grocery store next door.

Breaking and entering, 1200 block Blythewood Lane, July 28, while the occupant was at church, someone removed the back window to his home and entered. A family member came over and heard the back door closing as he was coming in. Missing are a pair of black Reebok low top shoes, a pair of white and yellow Nike Air high tops, and a pair of gray, New Balance low tops.

Breaking and entering, 300 block Hill St., July 29, someone broke the lock off the front gate, entered the compound and broke into two sheds to remove one grease gun and three locks.

Breaking and entering, 600 block Carolina Road, July 30, someone entered a store by knocking a hole in the roof. (See Crime Line.)

Breaking and entering, 1100 block Proctor St., July 31, someone entered a business by breaking the front door glass. Once inside, cash was removed.

Breaking and entering, 1000 block Truman Road, July 31, someone broke a padlock off a shed and removed two lawn mowers.

Breaking and entering, 100 block Morgan St., July 31, someone entered a residence and removed a house key and change.

Breaking and entering, 900 block Whitemarsh Road, July 31, two men entered a residence by breaking out a rear window. Once inside, they removed a gray Zenith VCR.

Armed robbery, 100 block Pinner St., July 31, three men approached another, demanding money. They beat him to the ground while brandishing a small caliber automatic handgun, then took his wallet and fled.

DISTRICT F

Breaking and entering, 2000 block Meadow Country Road, July 26, someone discovered her front door open. After calling the police, the suspect came out of the residence. Items had been moved in several rooms. by CNB
