Fred C. Wallace, 100, died Aug. 10, 1996, in a local nursing home.
Mr. Wallace, the widower of Alice L. Wallace, was a retired self-employed painting contractor. He was a native of Norfolk and a charter member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church. He was an Army veteran of World War I and served as the state chaplain for the Norfolk Chapter of Veterans of World War I.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Morris of Virginia Beach and Grace Styron of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette Presbyterian Church. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
